Who I work with
I use CBT to treat a broad variety of difficulties - you do not need a formal diagnosis to have CBT. Since CBT is a highly personalised treatment, it is suitable for many people in different circumstances. I work with children, adolescents and adults, specialising in obsessive-compulsive disorders and anxiety-related difficulties.
I offer face to face appointment in Chelmsford, Essex, or online appointments. I work during the day on week days, and offer a limited number of early evening appointments. Get in touch to enquire about current availability.
I particularly enjoy working with those in the following life stages:
Childhood and Adolescence
I work with children aged 7 and over. However, the suitability of CBT depends on the ability of the child and I will discuss this the parent. Where appropriate, I also offer parent-led therapy.
I use adapted CBT-based approaches to suit the age and abillity of each individual child. This can include the use of toys, drawing, etc. With your consent, if we agree it is appropriate, I am happy to liaise with other healthcare professionals or school staff supporting your child.
I frequently work with neurodivergent children experiencing additional difficulties such as anxiety or OCD. Your child's comfort is extremely important and I will discuss your child's individual needs and the suitability of CBT with you.
Motherhood
Becoming a mother can present many additional challenges, beyond caring for your child.
I work with mums experiencing difficulties such as new or pre-exisiting anxiety, as well as post-partum depression.
If you are interested in learning about your own mental health at the same time as learning about your baby's emotional development, in a small group with other new parents, do get in touch.
Menopause
With perimenopause and menopause, life often becomes more challenging. CBT can help support you through the additional difficulties life presents at this time, whether you are looking for clarity, calm or a whole new adventure.
